Dishonest, Scheming 2

Written by Joe Cruz on 11-Jul-2008

Dishonest, Scheming Dealership 2 I went to Compass Dodge on June 12th of 2008 to look a Dodge Charger for a steal of a price 9,995, Sedan, Burgundy, 3.5L V6, AUTO, 4 door, Stock# DX6221. (please note it is still up for sale) I asked on the phone what is wrong with the car? because I am coming from Brooklyn, New York. A young woman named Marisol said I just saw the car and stated nothing wrong with it is still on the lot and After a hour and a half drive I got to see this car, It was a thief recovery in bad condition, missing a tire with a emergency spare in place, missing corner light, radio, Air Conditioner panel, drivers side airbag, drivers side view mirror, the interior was dirty in short the car is not BUYABLE! So I made an offer to buy the car for $7000. So after Marisol put on an song and dance pretending that she didn't know what condition the car, and said she thought it was another car I was asking for ( I gave her the stock number) said I could not buy the car they are not a allowed to sell a car in this condition. SO WHY IS ON THE LOT???!!!!! Now that the "bate and switch" is in play she makes a tour around the lot mistaking the Magnum with the Charger not know the difference (one is a sedan and the other a station wagon) going to the manager to get a special price just for me because of the inconvenience of traveling all the way from Brooklyn . So if you're considering a visit to this dealership, Don't Bother Save your time! They have NOTHING SPECIAL TO OFFER! There sales people are clearly liars. Most car dealerships are truly not here to work for YOU. Please note that Major Auto World in Long Island City Queens uses this same Scheme. Joe Cruz

Dishonest, Scheming Dealership

Written by Lindsay Levin on 08-Oct-2007

It is common business practice for dealerships to pull tricks in order to draw customers to their lots but car buyers are becoming increasingly tired of dealing with these types of dealerships. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. Why not try something different? It is true that you won't make money by being upfront and honest to all of your customers but I had a very discouraging experience last with Compass Dodge on Sat., 10/06/2007. They've posted a picture of a vehicle for sale on several different car sites. The car is a 2004 silver Ford Explorer, 32,000+ miles. The asking price is $8,995. There is a visible dent in the bottom of the front right-side passenger door. Okay... fine. What they fail to mention in any of these listings is that the inside of the vehicle is in TERRIBLE condition - every seat is slashed, radio is missing, the interior is dirty - the car is not BUYABLE! What is even more infuriating is that a good deal of their buyers probably come from New York City and it was a long drive and the directions the dealership gave were wrong. When we got there, the a sales person named Marisol put on an entire show, pretending that she didn't know what condition the car was in before we got there... suuure. I had contacted her several times before my visit, asking her if the car was still available. She told me the car was available, never mentioning the condition the car was in. This car had been posted on sites for at least 3 weeks so most likely, she'd gotten previous visits for that particular car so she MUST have known what condition the car was in. What a waste of time. If you're NOT first-time car buyer, then I'm sure you're already familiar with dealerships and the B.S. they'll pull just to get a sale. But whoever you are, I'm here to let you know that if you're considering a visit to this dealership, just cross it off your list RIGHT NOW. Save your time! They have NOTHING SPECIAL TO OFFER! There sales people are clearly liars. Most cat dealerships are truly not here to work for YOU. Especi
